So, as most of you may know we have finally reached California. We have been here since Tuesday night. Which means that we left D.C. on the 9th and got here in 6 days. It was an epic road trip to say the least. My legs are still numb and my brain still can’t fully comprehend this dream that is now realized. Every time I have driven my car out I have stared up and the San Bernardino mountains and thought this was all a crazy dream. But it’s not. It’s real.

Yesterday was one of those days that you wish you could just hit rewind on over and over again. We started out going to one of Chris’ favorite skate stores, which happens to be right down the street from my apt. Then, the most amazing thing happened: I realized that across the parking lot from the skate store there was a Coffee Bean cafe! ( For those of you who don’t know its an amazing west coast coffee chain). We took the highway after that amazingness and headed to Venice Beach. To my surprise it only took us about 40 minutes to get there. This entire trip Chris has been chomping at the bit to finally get out on his board. He did yesterday:

I could honestly watch skateboarders all day long and it seems that I did almost. We met one guy who told us all about his experiences at the Burning Man festival just last week ( burning man is an artist colony desert rave that happens every year in Nevada). It felt like one of those eternal summer days that never ended. La Cobana was our next stop, famously noted for some of Venice’s best mexican food and margaritas (even though we had mojitos).

We did run into the ever so famous L.A. traffic for a good long while but then we made it to IKEA and I ordered furniture for my room and now I type this from my empty living room awaiting their call.

Erin should get here by tomorrow night. I was hoping that they would run into Chris here but maybe another time. Who know though since they have been flying across this country like bandits. They left 4 days ago from New York and already they were in Denver last night. They better have some crazy stories.

I will leave you with some more photos and a cool video we shot on my digital camera:
