Listening to yourself. Making it happen. Putting yourself in position to catch a wave that will inevitably pass you by if you hesitate too long and don’t start paddling. Life is fickle and fleeting like that. People fear never reaching their goals, aspirations, and the things they secretly dream about. Starting that band, planning that trip, going back to school, finding a job that they love, and whatever else consumes the mind that isn’t fully-engaged or self-fulfilled…But they also fear breaking routine, taking the risk, and going for it. If this sounds potentially autobiographical at all, I’ll readily admit that it sort of is. Maybe it’s true for you too.
That’s why I’m proud of LB. She’s doing something that most wouldn’t and moving across the country (about 3,500 or so miles) to follow her dream. Gnarly. And inspiring. As the last of her things get vacuum sealed (thanks 4AM infomercials/insomnia), and the maps get organized, it’s starting to set in that this roadtrip is just the beginning of the adventure.
First stop, Nashville! Playlists are being made as I type…We’re gonna rock this.
